Children’s Liturgy of the Word

KidsLIT (Children’s Liturgy of the Word)

Mission

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a wonderful way to Share God’s Word and to form our children of the future.  We are committed to leading the children of St. Joan of Arc parish in a quality liturgical experience.  We celebrate and facilitate the proclamation of the Scripture into our children’s life.

The Purpose of Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a fantastic way for children to worship the Lord with their peers.  Children’s Liturgy of the Word is designed to nourish and guide their spiritual growth.  This program has been a very successful way for children to understand the readings and Gospel teachings.   The children also take part in singing, Profession of Faith, and Prayers of the Faithful.   This is a fun way to learn and praise God.

When is Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is provided throughout the school year and held the first two Sundays of every month at the 9am Mass and the third and fourth Sundays of the month at the 10:30 Mass with the exception of Christmas and Easter.

Before the 1st Reading is read the children are invited to come forward and are led into Pedata Hall.  They rejoin their family in church during the Offertory of Mass.
