The ground breaking ceremony took place on March 5, 2004.
Father Rex Lumine officiated the ceremony. Father Francis and many other priests co-officiated. Elders from the nearby village were invited for the ceremony.

Father Rex Lumine prays along with other priests and elders of the nearby village.

These 11 bricks will become the corner stone of the new building. These bricks will be blessed and laid in the ground during the ceremony.

Sandalwood paste was used by each priest to place the sign of the cross on each brick.

Father Francis throws coins and religious medals into the ground.

Father Francis laid the first brick into the ground, priests and elders did the same.

Once all the bricks were in the ground cement was placed on top to keep them together. Jasmine flowers were placed on the top and then covered completely with sand.

This building will house the main electrical supply for the entire Institute. This is the first building built on our property.
