The St. Joan of Arc Center for Integral Development (JACID) Charitable Trust “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime.”                                                                                 ~            Confucius

The JACID Charitable Trust has been established to accelerate community development and to provide intervention strategies to address educational and vocational training needs as well as employment opportunities for disadvantaged young adults in the Southern region of Tamil Nadu, India.   The Saint Joan of Arc Community College is the first formal project of JACID, Charitable Trust.  This school will provide vocational training for these youth, and meet the following objectives to promote their personal and professional growth, as well as to help accelerate the economic development of the area:

	Identify the marginalized rural population and appropriate trades to increase their income and develop the area.
	Provide vocational training to the rural youth, and to prepare them for better employment opportunities.
	Provide counseling and career guidance for these youths.
	Equip the rural women with productive skills to enable them to support themselves through non-formal education.
	Create links with government, industries and businesses to facilitate marketing opportunities.
	Educate people about financial planning and promote habits of thrift and savings.
	Impart value education, and promote holistic approaches to health and personal development.
