IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE JOAN OF ARC CARNIVAL
Dear Parishioners, Neighbors and Friends,
With sadness, but also believing strongly this is the right and best thing to do for the entire community, we have decided to cancel this year’s annual Carnival. It is not an easy decision and has been made after much discussion and deliberation. Like you, we were truly hoping this year would be different. We note other area parishes have also come to the same conclusion.
We want to have a Parish Carnival that is as safe as we can make it for our patrons and our workers. We do not want to limit who or how many can come. We do not want to worry about keeping distance and who has a mask and who does not. We want the Carnival to be as big and fun (and delicious!) as it has always been. For all these reasons, we feel it best to wait until next year so we can do the kind of Carnival our community has enjoyed for 50 years!
So, put it on your calendar for next year:
SJA CARNIVAL: AUGUST 22-28, 2022!
In its place, we will hold (like last year) a Super 50/50 and other, safer opportunities to raise funds. Be assured this Fall we will begin working on the 2022 Carnival – as you know, it takes a whole year to plan it! Thank you to our dedicated chairpersons, volunteers and sponsors. We are so grateful for your continued support. May God bless you and your loved ones. Let’s all continue to pray and work for the safety and well-being of each other and, indeed, the whole world.
With grateful hearts,
Fr. Rich LaVerghetta Sr. Pat Pycik, SSJ
