Prayer Shawl Ministry
*Eucharistic ministry is not required
Started in October of 2012 by Rita Smith, the Prayer Shawl Ministry is perfect for someone who enjoys knitting at their own pace while bringing comfort to those facing difficult times.
In less than one year 76 shawls have been made of which 41 have been distributed. Attached to each shawl is a prayer. Often when prayers are requested for an ailing person a prayer shawl is offered as well.
The prayer shawl ministry also knits baby blankets which are donated to the NICU at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. Over 80 blankets, with prayers attached, have been delivered to the babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Our Volunteers work at home and meet occasionally to great new members, share patterns and fellowship.
